Isobar offers a practical solution for accessing the six-day surface pressure forecast data provided by the UK Met Office. The application downloads images and stores them locally, allowing users to consult forecasts offline, which is particularly beneficial for those on boats or in areas with limited internet access.

The forecasts are updated by the Met Office twice daily, around 07:30 and 19:30 GMT. The app automatically retrieves updated forecasts when necessary. While the images are centered on the UK, users have the capability to pan and zoom for a detailed view. Additionally, users can initiate a manual download of the forecasts by tapping the red day/time banner at any time.

Navigation between various forecasts is straightforward, facilitated by simple controls within the app. It utilizes the Met Office Data Point API; however, it is worth noting that only black and white forecast maps are currently available.

It should be mentioned that there are instances when updated forecasts from the Met Office are incomplete. In such cases, waiting approximately 30 minutes before attempting a manual download via the red day/time banner is advisable.
